my first entry

Okay so here goes.  I think that you guys will find this a lot easier to use, and so I will be moving our blog as of right now.  Those of you who wish to continue to use Livejournal are free to do so, but I will be emailing the link for the site we are going to use as a support organization very shortly.

  1. I need to mention that Frees stands for Friends and Relatives Empowering and Encouraging Survivors. We hope to expand the support system to include people affected by other diseases as well as cancer, but for right now cancer is our main focus.

Blessed beyond Measure

Hello to all of you: I know it's been a long while since you have seen any posts from me. But I have been going through a lot. A lot of things have changed in my life. In June 2017, I started taking classes to become a certified Healthcare musician from an online program called Therapy Harp Training program. The website if you are interested is www.therapyharp.com. I am still in that program and doing well. In 2016 I started singing at a nursing home in Lebanon, Tennessee called the Pavillion. Since that time I am singing at five nursing homes at the beginning of each month. I was asked to sing at another nursing home and I'm currently trying to get that set up. I will try to write as often as I can and continue to spread some inspiration and encouragement along the way. I was thinking while I was going over the posts on this blog that I am so blessed beyond measure, hence the title for this post. God has been so good to me in so many ways. God's Ways are Not Our Ways: Seemingly a Most Unlikely Dwelling Place for the Holy Spirit

So when my best friend was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis in November of 2009, I decided to read everything I could get my hands on about the disease. Books were helpful, but I decided I needed to talk with and get to know other people with MS. So I joined a Yahoo email group for people with it, and I learned a lot more. By the time that group fizzled out due to lack of participation, I had, in my view, learned pretty much everything a lay person not in the medical field could learn. I saw a suggested group on Facebook called We're Not Drunk, We Have MS. I also found the Facebook group page for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and I joined that one too. I joined these groups because, knowing what I knew about MS, I wanted to uplift and inspire people with this debilitating disease. People with MS are prone to bouts of depression and hopelessness. That's where I believed, and still believe, that I could help, and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation...

Welcome and Thank you

To the readers of this blog I want to welcome you. The purpose of this blog is to encourage everyone: whether you are needing a pick-me-up because you are having a bad day, or you are going through some rough times and you need some inspiration. Through the posts of this blog I, along with the other contributers, will do our best to lift you up.   I want to thank Sarah Baughn for giving me this blog. Sarah and I met on June 12, 2015 and we had no clue then how close we would become. We exchanged phone numbers and the friendship began. Not only are we friends but we are like sisters because we have so many things in common... from our family life to our schooling to what we like to do, ETC. I always jokingly say she's my sister from another mister, but Sarah's my sister in Christ. Sarah has seen me through some things that happened in my life: the biggest thing was when I found a lump in my breast last year. I was scared about what was going to happen to me and Sarah calm...
